Welcome to our diverse group of piano
students at the University of South Florida's School of Music!
In recent years we've come from Russia, England, Venezuela, Croatia, Finland, Bulgaria, Brazil, China, Canada, Jordan, Greece, China, Poland, Japan, Jamaica, Taiwan, Ukraine, and South Korea. We are a relatively small group of undergraduate and graduate piano students here – currently we sit at a total of 37 pianists, with 18 of us being graduate students, and 19 of us being undergraduate students. Our small size allows us to be in close contact with our faculty and to receive individual attention and support.
Pianists at
the School of Music have continuously done well during and after their piano
studies at the University of South Florida. While studying here, our
students have been prizewinners in various competitions including Artists International, Seiler
International in Crete, Konzerteum International in Greece, Missouri
Southern, “Citta di
Marsala" in Italy, "Franz Schubert" in Germany,
"Coast of Hope" in Bulgaria, Green Valley, the Florida State MTA
Collegiate Artist Competition, the Florida MTNA Competition,
the Central
Florida Orchestra Concerto Competition. We
believe in preparing our students to successfully continue on with their piano
studies after graduating from the University of South Florida – our
students have been accepted into masters programs at the New England
Conservatory of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music, Boston University, University of Illinois, Manhattan School of Music, Georgia State
University, Florida International University, etc.
Our graduate piano students have also been accepted to doctoral programs at the
Cleveland Institute of Music, SUNY Stony Brook, University of South California – Los
Angeles, University of Arizona, Indiana University, University of Michigan,
University of Marlyand, University of Miami, University of Colorado, etc.
